Forgot Your PIN?

If you can’t remember your PIN, follow these steps:

Method 2: Self-Reset via USSD

  1. Dial *185*9*8#
  2. Follow the prompts to verify your identity
    • You may be asked to enter your NIN, date of birth, or last transaction amount
  3. You’ll receive an SMS with a temporary PIN
  4. Log in using the temporary PIN
  5. Immediately set a new PIN that you can remember

Tip: Use a PIN that is not easy to guess but easy for you to remember.

Method 3: Visit an Airtel Agent or Service Center

If the above doesn’t work or your account is locked, you can reset your PIN in person:

What You’ll Need:

  • Your Airtel SIM card
  • Your original National ID (NIN)
  • Any recent Airtel Money transaction details (if possible)

👉 Visit any Airtel shop or agent, explain the issue, and they’ll reset your PIN for free.

How many attempts do I get before my account is locked?

👉 Usually 3 incorrect attempts. After that, you must reset or contact support.

Can I reset my Airtel Money PIN online or via the app?

👉 In Uganda, Airtel mostly supports PIN reset via USSD or in person — not yet online.

What’s the minimum and maximum PIN length?

👉 Airtel Money PINs are 4 digits only in Uganda.

🚨 Security Reminder

Never share your Airtel Money PIN with anyone, including agents.
Avoid using predictable PINs like 1234 or your birth year.
Change your PIN regularly for extra protection.
